The East Colfax Scratch Academy is a music education project of KGNU. We've been teaching the art of turntablism to students from East High School. On Wednesday the first students from the project will conduct a graduation performance at Twist & Shout from 4:30-6:00 pm. The public is encouraged to attend the event. KGNU is upgrading our 88.5 FM transmitter to a state-of-the-art digital transmitter, which will necessitate taking that signal and the 93.7 FM translator signal in Nederland off the air. We anticipate this project will take about 8 hours on Sunday, Feb. 22. During that time, you can still hear us at 1390 AM and online -- Click here for more info and updates.

|
Ann Wright served 29 years in the US Army and US Army Reserves, retiring as a colonel. She was a US diplomat for 16 years and served in Nicaragua, Somalia, Afghanistan and more. She was one of only 3 US Department of State officials to resign in opposition to the war in Iraq. Since then, Wright has become a prominent figure in the movement opposed to the occupation of Iraq, giving lectures on her political views and her experiences.
